Maypole Foundation providing a safe space for well-being and education led with a unique approach.
‘A holistic approach that focuses on learning for life, where all individuals flourish with the help of extremely, nurturing and experienced staff'
Over 1.5 million pupils in England have special educational needs (SEN), an increase of 87,000 from 2022. Both the number of pupils with an education, health and care (EHC plan) and the number of pupils with SEN support have increased.
Numbers continue to rise as the Department of Education and Government struggle to tackle the issues.
Our Foundation offers diverse activities to keep children immersed in learning and connection. Through Forest School, led by trained practitioners, kids explore nature, fostering curiosity and creativity. Animal Therapy sessions build empathy and trust through gentle creature interactions, nurturing emotional well-being. In Animal Care, children learn responsibility and compassion, tending to living beings. These experiences instill valuable life skills, promoting teamwork and respect for the environment. At our farm, we're dedicated to providing enriching experiences that inspire growth and connection. Join us for a journey of discovery and meaningful engagement in the wonders of farm life!
Building resilience
Resilience is crucial for children lacking coping mechanisms. Through forest school, they confront discomfort, fostering growth. Our one-to-one Thrive Approach supports decision-making, ensuring safety and progression. Small group settings across sites encourage emotional resilience at individual paces. We prioritise consistency and repair, understanding resilience as a journey, not a quick fix. At our farm, resilience isn't just a goal; it's integral to our ethos, guiding every interaction and fostering a community where all can thrive.
